1.drive
(1)vt.，vi. 駕駛，駕車：
You must have been driving at seventy miles an hour.
你剛才一定是以每小時(shí)70英里的速度開車。
Mary drives(her car) very slowly.
瑪麗開車開得很慢。
(2)vt. 趕，驅(qū)趕，圍趕(獵物、敵人等)：
With the help of two dogs, he drove the sheep down the mountain.
在兩只牧羊犬的幫助下，他把羊從山上趕了下來。
(3)vt. 逼迫，迫使：
Aeroplanes are slowly driving me mad.
飛機(jī)正在慢慢地把我逼瘋。
The death of all her children has driven her mad.
她所有的孩子的去世把她逼瘋了。
2.home與house
home 一般譯為“家”、“家庭”，著重指所居住的人，常有愛、溫暖、舒適、安全等隱含意義。house通常譯為“房子”、“房屋”、“住宅”，指的是建筑物。試體會(huì)它們的區(qū)別：
They live in a large house.
他們住在一所大房子里。(不可用home)
My father is at home now.
我父親現(xiàn)在在家。(不可用 house/at house)
Tom must be somewhere in the house.
湯姆肯定在這屋子里的某個(gè)地方。(不可用home)
I have a sweet home.
我有一個(gè)甜蜜的家庭。(不可用house)

1.dream
(1)vt. 做夢，夢見：
I dreamt/dreamed I was in Scotland. 我夢見我在蘇格蘭。
(2)vt. 做夢，夢見(與of，about連用)：
I often dream of/about you.
我經(jīng)常夢見你。
I dreamt of a large empty room.
我夢見一個(gè)很大的空房間。
(3)n.夢;夢想，幻想。
I dreamt/had an interesting dream last night.

2.throw vt.
(1)投，扔，拋：
Don't throw stones at the dog.
別向那狗扔石頭。
Throw the ball to Tom.

Shall I throw this old newspaper away?

(2)把……對準(zhǔn)目標(biāo);向……作出舉動(dòng)：
George was very happy today. Julie had thrown a smile at him in the morning.

The boss threw him an angry look.

(1)vt. 完成，結(jié)束：
The house was completed five months ago.

(2)adj. 完整的，全部的：
Do you know the complete story?
你知道整個(gè)故事嗎?
This is a complete family.

(3)adj. 十足的，徹底的，絕對的：
There is complete silence in the room.
房間里一點(diǎn)兒聲音也沒有。
That was a complete surprise.

2.strange adj.
(1)外地的，異鄉(xiāng)的：
Living in a strange land is not always a pleasant thing.
客居他鄉(xiāng)并不總是一件令人愉快的事。
(2)陌生的，生疏的：
That morning, he saw a strange face in the classroom.
那天早上，他在教室里看到了一張陌生的面孔。
This city is quite strange to me.
我對這座城市很不熟悉。
(3)不平常的，奇特的，奇怪的，古怪的：
The house looks strange to some people.
