3月12日是孫中山先生逝世紀(jì)念日。中山先生生前十分重視林業(yè)建設(shè)。他任臨時(shí)大總統(tǒng)的中華民國(guó)南京政府成立不久，就在1912年5月設(shè)立了農(nóng)林部，下設(shè)山林司，主管全國(guó)林業(yè)行政事務(wù)。1914年11月頒布了我國(guó)近代第一部《森林法》，1915年7月，政府又規(guī)定將每年“清明”定為植樹節(jié)。
