還有，這篇文章的風(fēng)格過(guò)于隨意（informal）。演講辭屬于正式文體，其用詞應(yīng)該比較講究。如文章第一句稍加修改就變成： I feel honored to stand here as an candidate for the president of the students’ union。演講辭雖然不能像一般文章一樣用一些很長(zhǎng)、很復(fù)雜的句子，但也不能全用很短、很簡(jiǎn)單的句子。那樣會(huì)顯得很單調(diào)，同時(shí)會(huì)使閱卷老師覺(jué)得沒(méi)有很強(qiáng)的造句能力。

比如我們可以八一、二兩句結(jié)合起來(lái)，這樣就變成：As a junior in Chemical Department, today I feel honored to stand here as an candidate for the president of the students’ union。原文的第四句則可以改成： For the wonderful job I have done and great contribution I have made, I have been often praised by both my classmates and my teacher。類(lèi)似的可以修改合并的句子在上述這篇文章中可以說(shuō)比比皆是。修改過(guò)以后的句子讀起來(lái)就富于變化。而原文的句子13個(gè)中只好由9個(gè)直接由I 開(kāi)頭，這樣的開(kāi)頭方式過(guò)于單調(diào)。
