4. 在介詞后引導(dǎo)賓語從句不用if。如：
I’m thinking about whether we’ll have a meeting. 我在考慮我們是否要開個(gè)會。
5. 直接與not連用時(shí)不用if。如：
I don’t know whether or not you will go. 我不知道你是否去。
6. 賓語從句置于句首時(shí)不用if。如：
Whether you have met George before, I can’t remember. 我不記得你以前是否見過喬治。
7. 在discuss等之后時(shí)不用if。如：
We’re discussing whether we’ll go on a picnic. 我們在討論是否要去野餐。
8. 當(dāng)用if會引起歧義時(shí)不用if。如：
Please let me know whether you are busy. 請告訴我你是否忙。(若用if，還可理解為“如果你很忙，你就告訴我。”
9. 在動詞不定式前用whether不用if。如：
He doesn’t know whether to go or not. 他不知道是否去。
10. 賓語從句是否定式時(shí)不用whether。如：
She asked me if Tom didn’t come. 她問我Tom是不是沒有來。
