表/到……時”引導時間狀語從句。如果從句中用了一般過去時主句中常用過去完成時;如果主句中用了將來時從句中常用一般現(xiàn)在時表將來。
如:By the time I got up當我起床時他已經(jīng)離開了。
到他二十歲時他會成為一名教師。
【拓展】 by now 表示“到現(xiàn)在為止”通常與現(xiàn)在完成時連用。
如:By now I have collected 200 dolls.到現(xiàn)在為止我已收集了二百個布娃娃。
【備注】
過去完成時是一個相對的時態(tài)表示的是“過去的過去”只有在和過去某時或某動作相比較時才用到它因此當原句中若找不到一個“過去的時間”作為參照點時
