新概念的課文多以故事呈現(xiàn)，趣味性強(qiáng)，而且難度層層遞進(jìn)，很適合用來做閱讀材料。
推薦多次閱讀，熟悉文章，培養(yǎng)語感。
如第二冊(cè)的Lesson 15——Good News，作者深諳反轉(zhuǎn)的魅力，短短幾句描述出“我”忐忑——絕望——驚喜的心情轉(zhuǎn)變。
The secretary told me that Mr. Harmsworth would see me. I felt very nervous when I went into his office.
He did not look up from his desk when I entered. After I had sat down, he said that business was very bad.
He told me that the firm could not afford to pay such large salaries. Twenty people had already left. I knew that my turn had come.
'Mr.Harmsworth,' I said in a weak voice.
'Don't interrupt,' he said.
Then he smiled and told me I would receive an extra thousand pounds a year!
單詞解析
新概念里出現(xiàn)的單詞都是基本常用的詞匯，實(shí)用且重要，一定要掌握。如果單純記單詞不容易記住，可以放到句子里去理解學(xué)習(xí)。

secretary 起源于拉丁語，發(fā)音略難。記憶secretary可以聯(lián)系secret(秘密)這個(gè)詞。身為秘書，接觸公司的各項(xiàng)事務(wù)，自然能了解到不少秘密。
nervous：adj. 焦慮的，緊張的
像許多學(xué)生考試前總會(huì)很緊張，就可以說Examinations make me nervous.
關(guān)聯(lián)詞語：irritable adj. 易怒的

look up：抬頭看，向上看;查閱

afford：

such adj. 如此的，這樣的(修飾名詞)，名詞前可加形容詞。

*當(dāng)名詞前用many/much修飾時(shí)，前面用so，而非such

turn n. 輪流，輪班

課后練習(xí)
