Jingle Bells(鈴兒響叮當(dāng))這首歌恐怕是最為人們熟悉的圣誕歌曲。可是這首歌最初并不是為 圣誕節(jié) 所寫(xiě)，而是為感恩節(jié)所作的。1857年，詞曲作家詹姆斯·羅德·皮爾彭特(James Lord Pierpont,25 April 1805 - 5 August 1886)的父親在波士頓一所學(xué)校任職。這首歌是吉米寫(xiě)給父親的學(xué)生們，幫助學(xué)生們參加感恩節(jié)演出用的。難怪我們?cè)诟柙~中找不到半點(diǎn)耶穌基督的影子。歌中唱道：“雪橇奔馳在雪地上，我們歡笑一路上，鈴聲兒響徹四方，我們情緒高漲，笑得多開(kāi)心，雪橇之歌今夜唱。叮叮當(dāng)，叮叮當(dāng)，鈴兒響叮當(dāng)……”明快的旋律、歡樂(lè)的場(chǎng)景、動(dòng)人的童聲合唱，使這首歌成為150年來(lái)最重要的圣誕節(jié)保留曲目，也是世界知名度的歌曲。
