Tips
1)as,which都可以引導(dǎo)非限定性定語(yǔ)從句,但as重點(diǎn)突出整個(gè)句子的含義,而which有可能指代主句當(dāng)中某個(gè)詞的含義,也有可能指代整個(gè)句子的含義。
2)As引導(dǎo)非限定性定語(yǔ)從句,可以用于主句之前,as和主句之間要有一個(gè)逗號(hào)分隔開來(lái)。
eg: As we expected, John was admitted to the university. John
3)As引導(dǎo)非限定性定語(yǔ)從句,也可以用在主句之后,這時(shí)就相當(dāng)于which
eg:
She married him, which was unexpected.
She married him as was unexpected.
但在as所引導(dǎo)的非限定性定語(yǔ)從句中,如果運(yùn)用的是被動(dòng)語(yǔ)態(tài)結(jié)構(gòu),被動(dòng)詞可以省略。
eg:
She married him as unexpected. (was省略)
The material is elastic as shown in the figure.
(在這種情況下,shown之前省略了謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞,這時(shí)就不能把a(bǔ)s換成which . 如果要用which則要補(bǔ)上謂語(yǔ)動(dòng)詞)
