表達難點
1.第1句中的定語“由國家漢辦主辦的”較長，故將其處理成后置定語，用過去分詞短語sponsored by…引出，表被動。
2.第2句中的“已經(jīng)成功舉辦了12屆”形式上為主動句，其含義卻表被動，譯成英文時要采用被動語態(tài)，故譯作has been successful held for 12 times.
3.第3句“今年的決賽共有來自77個不同國家的123名選手參加”如果直譯成the finals of this year had 123 contestants…，不符合英文表達習慣：翻譯時，先確定好主要結構(a total of 123 contestants participated in the finals)。“來自77個不同國家的”作主語的后置定語，用介詞短語from 77 different countries來表達。時間狀語“今年”置于句末。
4.最后一句中的“建立起中國年輕大學生和其他國家學生之間溝通的橋梁”如果逐字對譯為builds a communication bridge between Chinese young college students and students in other countries則顯重復啰嗦。故“省譯”兩個“學生”中的一個，把“中國”和“其他國家”處理成后置定語，表達為between young college students of China and other countries.
