in china , the situation was especially seriou s in april and may . eve ry day people listened with gr eat tension to the radio broadcast which r epor ted the increasing number of sars victims and probable cases , initially found in a few provinces and major cities and soon in mor e areas . just as people found themselves in a tr emendous epidemic turmoil , the cpc commit tee and the cent r al government timely is sued a series of rigorous measures with governments at all levels immediately responding to the call , such as setting aside mas sive funds , setting in operation tr acing , monitoring and r egistering mechanisms , pasteurizing public sur rounding environments , examining feve r symptoms , keeping vigilant watch on ha rd-hit a reas . however , of all the measures , the most dynamic and emergent was designating sars specific hospitals and assembling doctors and nurses .
