  尊敬的北京大學(xué)教授:

  您好!我是市一中理科實(shí)驗(yàn)班班主任兼語(yǔ)文老師×××。在此我謹(jǐn)向貴校推薦我的一個(gè)狂生--××。我這樣迫不及待地推薦他,原因有二:一來(lái)不堪其狂,想早日擺脫他的折磨;二來(lái)北大藏龍臥虎,定有能制服他的高手,讓他明白:天外有天,人外有人,狂中更有狂中手,強(qiáng)中更有強(qiáng)中手,替我一個(gè)普通的中學(xué)老師出一口惡氣。

  他性喜關(guān)心時(shí)政,指點(diǎn)江山,激揚(yáng)文字,同學(xué)們往往贊其見解獨(dú)到,因而他自然而然成為班上所謂的資深時(shí)政分析家,且公然不把鳳凰衛(wèi)視的阮次山放在眼里。他又喜好棋牌游戲,自稱實(shí)驗(yàn)班象棋、橋牌擂主,但愿他還沒開始接觸圍棋,不然,以他的超強(qiáng)領(lǐng)悟力和可以預(yù)見的神速進(jìn)步,我這個(gè)班主任早被他撂倒。他又喜歡體育運(yùn)動(dòng),尤其喜歡足球,雖然在年級(jí)里是當(dāng)之無(wú)愧的后衛(wèi),但是他不應(yīng)該據(jù)此就說(shuō):我如果去踢職業(yè)足球,中國(guó)隊(duì)肯定第二次打進(jìn)世界杯了。他還喜歡藝術(shù),最愛在月明星稀的晚上擺弄薩克斯,害得我老是擔(dān)心班上女生著了他的魔。可惡的是,他在班上特有人緣,倘若另立了一個(gè)山頭,把我給架空了,叫我有何面目去見我們的校長(zhǎng)呢。

  他在數(shù)學(xué)上確實(shí)有點(diǎn)天賦,但數(shù)學(xué)領(lǐng)域有天賦的大師不少哇,我是語(yǔ)文老師不擅長(zhǎng)精確計(jì)算,我憑直覺認(rèn)為,他那點(diǎn)天賦應(yīng)該不比其他大師多。如果他到了北大還是這樣狂,我建議各位尊敬的教授要么讓他去攻克希爾伯特問題,要么讓他去研究中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)(我聽說(shuō),中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)是最復(fù)雜的、最不可思議的;我還聽說(shuō),中國(guó)的經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)家最不好當(dāng)),我想這是整治他的辦法(各位不要透露是我說(shuō)的哦)。

  但愿此子能像孫猴子皈正一樣歸依貴校,在下衷心祝愿各位高人成功。上帝保佑!千萬(wàn)別讓此子再殺回長(zhǎng)沙!不然,那可真會(huì)要了我的命。

  另外我聽說(shuō),覺得別人狂妄實(shí)是一種弱者的感受,我只覺得此子“狂”,但沒覺得此子“妄”,我或可只算得半個(gè)弱者。不知此論是否得當(dāng),敬請(qǐng)賜教。

  Dear Sir / Madam,

  I am writing this recommendation to support Ms. Tseng Pu-Yi's application to your TESOL program.

  I have known Ms. Tseng for over 2 years. Ms. Tseng was first a student at our center taking TOEFL and GRE preparation classes. Because of her excellent performance, Ms Tseng was later asked to work as a teaching assistant from 1997 until now. Ms. Tseng stood out among many students, as she is an eager learner and raised good questions. She works hard on her language skills and has made improvement. I believe she has the ability to succeed in graduate study.

  Ms. Tseng has led 4 classes with 50, 85, 90 and 87 students, respective, for a total of over 300 students. Her duties as a teaching assistant include attending to teachers' requests in classrooms, helping students' individual needs and speaking to her classes everyday. Ms. Tseng has out-performed our expectations. She is a responsible person who prepares carefully ahead of class everyday. We have never heard any complaints from the teachers she works with. Being a teaching assistant can sometimes be a tiring job, as one must constantly resolve every student's questions and problems. The job can also get repetitive and exhausting. Nonetheless, Ms. Tseng works patiently with each and every one of her students.

  I find Ms. Tseng's excellent performance as a teaching assistant to be a good indicator that she will excel in your TESOL program and later in her career pursuit. Ms. Tseng has demonstrated her passion for teaching, good public speaking skills, eagerness to help students and ability to work in teams. I believe these are all essential characteristics observed in good English teachers. I strongly recommend Ms. Tseng Pi-Yu to your program.
